If you see any, could you report back on whether there are any short broken branch stubs where it looks like branches have snapped out?

Were not just finding small branchlets.

 

Here a sizeable branch above a very well used footpath.

 

It has the often associated Auricularia also fruiting on the dysfunctional surface of the branch

 

will be interesting to see the cross section of this one once its removed.

Yep...Sheen Road....was there yesterday:)

 

I've driven past this tree once, several months ago but instantly recognised it from the pic, funny how a few brackets can make some thing so recognisable i must drive past hundreds of em but that one really stood out.

We dismantled it today.

 

tbh, maybe too early too worry about & had we carried out the resistograph in the tree, it may have stayed.

 

But the path is a major foot flow & we lost a sizable similar branch last year.
