missed this thread before, but explains what I had a few weeks ago then after strimming as we definitely have a bit of hog weed as per Deans pictures.

At risk of a slight derail, can anyone recommend good general books for finding out what we have sprouting out of the ground, Curious about exactly what I am strimming away - probably all sorts of interesting stuff amongst it and might be useful for tracking down any other nasties.

Did they say what they thought it was? I've seen plenty of hogweed blisters and that's what they look like! (and I say again, especially the big juicy ones)

What do the hospital reckon it is then? They really are crap sometimes - like when they would have it that the burns my mate got all up his arms were from fig sap. Mate proved it to himself by getting more of it on his skin and the same reaction happening.

Just had the last 4 days of work, due to being a idiot. Won a large clearance contract and ignored my own RA ended up with my left arm covered from the back of my hand to where my t shirt started with blisters some of them 1 inch long. STAY covered when striming!!!! thank god i had the full visor.

 

Oh also got loads on the back of my neck as well. Will have to be careful with the sun for the rest of the year and maybe even the next 2 years as well.

I am still scarred from my contact. No blistering in the sun though or marks appearing. We have just been dealing with an area of land approx 3Ha which was covered in giant hogweed. It dwarfed our 8' tall landy.
