I can't!! I'm saving for a spiderjack ;0)

Paul consider the lj aswell if I was you I'd try them both before you buy. Plus the lj works a lot better with a sling as a bridge so you can pull from underneath. The sj has a habit of not locking off.

Body thrusting is about the least efficient method of climbing, and long term has the potential to wreck your body.

For efficiency, use a pantin or footlock. Or cobble up a rads system for ddrt, I know a good one but being 3:1, it's sloooowwwww.

I went for efficiency and now climb only srt, it's the way forward, but thats another thread:thumbup:

:confused1: DRT is an exceptionally efficient way of climbing body thrusting is not, footlocking is an art but its also a sure way to wreck yourself in time unless you can master a smooth technique i certainly never could but even those who are some of the fastest in the world will use SRT for access commercially, footlocking only for training for the comps. If i ever felt like doing another isa comp I will not even bother with the footlock event why waste my energy.

SRT is a good access technique, as for work positioning, thats another thread yes :sneaky2: personally i think if you like it good for you but doubt it is something that will surpass DRT as SRT is not new yet drt became and still is the predominant work positioning technique. But hell i could be wrong.

I also hate using a pantin for drt access its another way to unbalance yourself over time prefering SRT to gain the top anchor and good route planing to minimise body thrusting or using the pantin.

Can't you use both ends of your rope,Hitch climber one end and prussic the other, switch between the two as and when required or ascend to top on your prussic tie in with hitch climber and then discard prussic for working around and back down tree.

Yes this is what my climbing instructor told me, a good arborist always uses a ladder!!

It's no good having an O rig , Pantin , Rope Wrench and a hitch Climber if you can't pull yourself up a tree .

Regarding ladder's if they use them a Kew Garden's then there good enough for me :001_smile: You need to try them as they'll be better than your 15ft throwline :001_smile:
