.....at least that's what I have been informed of for the last 3 days by every Tom, Dick and Harry that works for a civils or building firm!

I have spend 2 days air-spading a trench through a Lime tree's roots in for a new water mains, and a day at a University radial trenching (soil-decompaction) around 9 Silver Maples. (I'll stick some pics up tomorrow).

I try and take people as I find them, and not pre-judge......but I really have met some morons this week!! I have been told:

  • my work is a scam and a waste of money (I just provided a service I was asked for!)
  • the trees that have had their roots driven over by dumpers and diggers will be fine (perhaps - but they'll sure do better in de-compacted soil)
  • that the trees should just be cut down anyway (f*%k 'em were the exact words).

Geez, I am in danger of coming over all "hamadryad" here, but what is the matter with people? I know that trees are inconvenient for groundworkers and builders but that doesn't mean they have to be so insulting about them (and me!).

I don't normally get wound up about this sort of thing but today it just got to me....rant over:biggrin:

Hope you have raised a NCR regarding this incidence..:001_tt2:

Paul,

we have had muppets on our case all week regarding access to a site and parking on it.....

ive found 4 words excellent in dealing with such half wits,it may not be in youe customer service manual but works a treat....

it goes:

"go blow my donkey!"

nuff said ,they are left dumbfounded with no comeback and you can resume your work.

Happy Days!!

There will always be stupid people. I often wonder what it must be like to live in their basic little world - one might as well try to imagine what it is like to be a bat.

One thing is for certain though; you shouldn't concern yourself with the opinion of idiots. After all, they're idiots.

Maybe you should have just smiled at the 'scam' comment and patted your back pocket..

Doesn't sound like they warranted you wasting your breath, left to the likes of them I doubt we would have anything to breathe.

Love to get some air spading in ,you lucky man :thumbup1:
