stuck nuts

thanks for the replys. I used torque wrench to set the nuts and copper ease on the threads. Was thinking myself about trying welding a nut or bar onto the nuts or the drilling method. One other thing I was thinking about was to cut or chisel a grove into the nuts and then try and free them by hitting them round with a chisel or srewdriver ??

ive never done them, Graham has always done mine, I thought he might have been trying to just use a socket wrench

Drilling can be fun. Ensure you have plenty of drill bits nice and sharp and use cutting fluid.

 

Decide if drilling or welding is the way, you don't want to weld on it and find its not working then try drilling as you will have to drill through welding.

 

The chisel idea may work but doubt it as you have tried an impact driver.

Find a large nut to fit over the mashed head, the tighter the better, bash it all the way on with a hammer then mig around inside, welding the cap head bolt to the nut. Allow to cool, the heat will travel down the thread, breaking the rust seal. Get a good size socket and bar and undo. Simples.
