im normally quiete this time of year, nesting season , so i get time to split log's and sort out gear for the next season , but this year im busy with my new string to my bow stock fencing , not easy stuff drive up do a field edge , but on wet ground and through dense woodland stuff people dont like doing .

im the same, i seem to get the fencing jobs other contractors don't want to do, fencing a steep wooded hillside ATM, got a tractor and rockspike in yesterday to knock 50 strainers in, it was struggling with the ground conditions, this weathers really not helping things.

We've not had any major work come in for about two weeks. Still getting smaller stuff but not enough to keep us busy. It will come in…. always does. You just have to be pro-active about finding work.

Always good when you can diversify too…

Anyone else feeling the phone isnt ringing as much as usual at the moment?

We had a great start to the year and the best February in 10 years! :thumbup1:

But since 2-3 weeks ago its just gone dead

Roll on the sunshine

I know what you mean, I took on a nice landscaping project for my mates sister to see me through, I have 4 days of tree jobs booked until the end of the mont and then nothing really, the phone has gone dead in the last 2 weeks. I looked at 2 jobs and put in a fair price and never heard back. I have noticed over the last couple of years that people are being more choosey with their spending and in a lot of cases the trees end up way down the list. I paid a company to get me to the top of google for a month after they were telling me the amount of enquirers they were having for tree work in my area, I have had no calls from this as the few calls I had I asked and they were either word of mouth or had seen my local paper add. I should have kept my money, I won't be going down the google line again!
