Anything need doing to this oak?

It's a bit of a landmark and many people have said it looks like its reaching out to grab the sky. I just worry about all the dead material on it.

The dead wood will just sit there, its one of the only trees i will trust to rope of dead wood. I love it, its as old as time:thumbup1:

Put up a fence and mulch around the base. No need to drop anything out of there!

 

In the context of helping the tree then yes OK

But in the context of the picture and the place of the tree in the picture, imagine how that would look

Thanks all. It's a stunning tree but I've seen so many on national trust land hacked right back lately. I guess they have to worry about targets.
