Is it safe to use an endless sling and a krab as a home made cambium saver?

 

With a revolver DMM krab would be lovely if its safe?

Within aerial rescue if your gonna use a tape sling and krab they suggest to have to krabs with the gates opposite so dont accidentally open, even with a spiderjack just get a cambium saver and save for or make a ropeguide type thing

For top security it would be best practice to use two karabiners together so the gates oppose each other. One is safe, but you will be away from it so you cant keep an eye on it. The only minor risk is it rubbing against the trunk if you end up going round the tree, and then it could possibly open. Two opposing krabs would nver both open.

 

Of course, if you have two revolvers, and a sling, they you have got yourself a cambium saver anyway!

Will get a cambium saver sooner or later, just using what i have at the moment

Have you got a pulley? Stick one on a sling with a mallion (£3-£4). It'll be safer than a crab and a better bend radius for your rope

Revolver on one end and a crab with a fixe on the other- retrievable.
