Use "stumpbusters", I have two of my own machines, but TBH its cheaper and less hassle to just get Les (our local stumpbuster guy) in, his machine is faster and he maintains it.

 

I had him in on Thursday last week, we removed a Plain for the council, Les ground the stump, he them went and ground another for me at a different site, we cleaned up the grindings from the Plain, we then went and tidied up that site and went and removed and ground some shubs at another site.

 

The final job payed for Les.

I always use the Manchester stump buster, like you say it's just really easy and hassle free.
