The guys in the shop said the main problem was breaking them in, I havent had a problem atoll, they've been on my feet 5-6 days a wk 10-12 hours a day for the last 3wks and there the most comfterable boot ive worn, wear them out to walk the dogs also lol. Grip in the tree is excellent they are comfterable with spikes also,(Gecko Aluminium). I did have to go a size up 43-44 as advised on most european boots, had todo the same with my mendle woodwalker. I will be able to tell you more in a month or two as i will be smashing these boots hard. They are the best boots ive worn so far and have no regrets buying them or recomending them to friends. They look good aswell :)

Two very conflicting opinions there, how long have you had yours Czlowiek Drzewo and what Boots preceeded them?

I am wearing a pair of Meindal Hiking Books at the moment, the weather is too foul here to wear my Wescos.I'l be posting off the Wescos before the Xmas mail rush.

Are wescos worth the money Mike?

Mike, theres some confusion here on Czlowiek's post. I'm relatively certain he is referring to the Stein quests which were basically the mark1 version.....you can consider the Phantoms the mark2 which were made softened up considerably. I'm sure Stein can give better details than this though regarding the changes made.

I had the quests and had the same problem as Czlowiek, whereas I spoke to Reg Coates about these and he didnt have a problem with them whatsoever.

The Phantoms however fitted like a glove from day 1.

Steve how do they compare to Clima Air Zermatt GTX boots? I have had these for a year and there is now no grip on soles anymore..shame really as they have worn in good and are comfortable now. Looking for a new boot thats similar to these but not as stiff.

cheers

Get them re-soled.
