Fantastic decision mate! I have exactly the same vehicle in red. Double cab great for locking stuff in and the bed is still 6" longer than the equivalent hilux. Driving position much better than hilux and IDI turbo engine as sweet as a nut. I get 25+ mpg normally, less when towing. If the mileage concerns you one thing for peace of mind: http://www.redlineoil.com. No I didn't work for Redline Oil but I am a former gas turbine engineer (prior to stress and down shifting career wise) and know a thing or two about diesel engine oils (have a flippin PhD in them actually!!!) and Redline is as good as it gets. You'd need 7.5 litres of 15W40 Diesel Engine Oil which aint cheap but is a real investment. If you are going to be towing regularly, consider changing all the gear / transmission oils too since low speed - high torque spaling when towing is very hard on hypoid differentials - again, redline lubes... Only complaints are turning circle and rear light bulbs have a mind of their own - constantly failing and then coming back to life as I start to investigate. Also, Mitsubishi set up the L200 4work front tracking really dumb so that it eats front tyres - this can be considerably reduced by having the tracking checked and adjusted - Protyre are best (if in your area). Any other querys fire away. You got a bargain - that would have been 6k down here!

After looking for about the last 6 weeks on ebay, autotrader, adtrader and numerous other websites i have decided to buy this vehicle

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MITSUBISHI-L200-PICKUP-TRUCK-4WORK-2004-DOUBLE-CAB_W0QQitemZ110319287240QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item110319287240&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A7%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Have bought it for 2850 which at 4 years old (fair enough highish milage) seems reasonably priced and it is localish and is just what i am looking for been in the timber trade..........any comments greatfully recieved

Just curious but surely if your selling a vehicle you would know if the seat's are stained or not? I know this is not important in the long run but a bit odd.

Excellent decision! I bought mine new in March 03, faultless. Sorry Landy boys but ya cant beat Jap.

You're a brave man making that statement on this site. Braver than me!!!! Just for the record I'm in the Jap camp aswell. Owned a L200 6 years ago, one of the old ones (K plate) and it was built like a tank. They are great trucks.

As a first post on this site I hope I've not chosen a topic to get me off to a bad start!

After two L Rovers and six Jap trucks I know what I'm sticking to. Currently 4 years into an L200 and the only problem has been a re-write of fuel pump ecu. Effects them all so I'm told.
