Stihl 660 or Husky equivalent

Evening all, it's time to add another saw to my small collection and thought I'd pick your brains! I've got a job coming up where I'm going to need a big saw. A Stihl 660 would do the job but was wondering what the husky equivalent is and whether it would be a better buy? Will be used for 'chogging' down a big stem and logging up. Opinions/preferences appreciated!

Hi phi I love my 660 with heated handle it very good saw ask wooded he the king husky man he nos husky if you get a 660 get one with a heated handle all the best phi Jon

Both are fantastic saws, I prefer the 660 myself, but it would be an idea to visit a dealer and handle them both, see which feels better and more intuative to use. Heated handles are a must imo, what with the vibe levels.

 

Lets not make this another Husky Vs. Stihl thread lads, if you know your kit, you will know that at this level there is'nt a lot to choose between the 2, its down to which is best for you.

 

The husky 390xpg is also a great saw, but may be a bit small for your needs, very smooth and pointable.

Thanks for all your comments, probably opt for the 660 as a local dealer has offered me one at a good price, but almost fancy trying the 395xp just cos I haven't used a big Husky before. They do say a change is as good as a rest! So do heated grips help with preventing white finger?
