I know the mention of LOLER 98 hits a nerve as soon as it is mentioned.

Do forwarders and forestry trailers with cranes come under LOLER.?

As they do lift a load.

If so how many people have them tested ?

Is there a LOLER certificate that comes with a new one?

is was told no as there is a restrition zone of 20 metres that no person should be in / so as no person is is close to the crane end so no loler / not like a hiab where people could be in the user zone then yes , i may be wrong

the restrition zone should be visible on the crane boom and may vari

Well it's a tricky question.

They lift a load but they don't lift it over people or people and they're shouldn't be anybody in the 20m zone. Also the operator is protected by ROPS and FOPS. So from what i got on my FMO course they don't need to be.

We have ours tested though. Out of interest though LOLER isn't that bad in Finland they have to get the cranes xrayed every 2 years to check for damage.

:confused1: Does any new item come with a LOLER cert??

I thought LOLER was about inspecting used equipment.

so if you dont use that new rescue kit, it wont need a LOLER test:001_tt2:

as soon as somthing is issued for use, it needs to be in your loler records. new items come with certificates of conformity so they do have a loler cert :thumbup1:
