It acured to me aday as I was up a willow tree in the snow(waiting for my groundie to pull his finger out) that I have never turned that cold weather start bit on my MS200,does anybody do that!!!!! as all my saws have em but I never turn them will they run better or is this just a VERY cold weather thing like in Norway.

Indeed they all seem to have a cold weather or carb heat function whereby you turn a flap or similar. Can't be for cold starting since the engine is cold anyway and won't provide warm air, but rather to avoid carb icing so I guess only for flippin cold places north of ere...

if your saw stops because your carb is frozen solid.... then its time to flip your flap...

 

flip your flap when its not needed.... and youll do more damage than an iced carb by overheating your saw

I flip the flap!

Damp and around 0 c does ice 'em up...here... esp 2 day with loads of snow...6" of it ...flippin cold...and wet...and iced up rope and saw....:viking:

First time ive ever had to resort to flipping flap! today but its been -4 all day, Saw running very poorly until flipped then ran ok, but only 361 required attention 020 ran fine all day!
