The old Landy was a true work horse, in the days when air con was never heard and muddy foot wells could be powers washed (as said above)Try than in a modern car and the electrics wont work for a month until it has dried out!

With so many jap imports flooding the used car market a few years ago everyone went for 4x4, I seen some stuck where my car has gone & half cant drive them, but thats another story :-)

The new Landy I wouldnt want as a prize, give me a Defender any day but I am getting older and need some comfort now and not be deafened doing 45 MPH and have VWF in my arse.

If you read this and were born before 1980 you wont know what im on about :-)

G Class Mercedes are as good as Defenders, probably better in some ways but stupidly overpriced.
