IPAD for business?

Maybe I am the odd one out but I got a 3g Ipad 2 and do regret it. It is brill as a media viewer but is very poor for even limited business use and is certainly not a patch on a notepad or laptop.

I do feel like I am missing something with all the hype but it just doesn't hack it for me and, at the price we paid, it is a very very expensive toy.

Its not a substitute for either, BUT, it can comfortably fulfil those roles if required.

I suppose I am saying, if you purchase an iPad for web based use then you'll be surprised how much work related tastings you can take on as and when the need arises.

iPads are great and if you get the pages app you shouldn't have any problems sending off quotes either in pdf or word format (pages even gives you invoice templates you can use). After using PC formats for years we have finally converted to apple and its the best move we have made. Recently got a macbook pro and even though it's probably overpriced I absolutely love it. Its so intuiative and the iPhoto, iMovies programmes that come as standard are great.

Move to apple, I doubt you'll look back:thumbup1:

andy try an app called ipflanzen, i think its spelled that way, has a good amount of trees and plants in it.

Ive been using my ipad instead of a filofax for the past couple of months now, really easy, can add as much info as i need into each job and when its connected to internet it then syncs with my phone and vice versa. I just wrap it up in a jacket to give it some protection and security when in the truck.

We bought an Ipad for the business about 3 months ago. It is great, all quotes are written up on it, the diary is now electronic and all information is shared on drop box. We are going to start doing electronic risk assessments and even thinking of buying another one so me and my business partner both have one for when we are working separately. We tether to the ipad through our mobiles so didnt have to pay for an additional 3G contract.
