It was only a matter of time I think but larvae has been found in Paddock Wood Kent, keep your eyes peeled as this poses a serious threat to broadleaf trees.:thumbdown:

this is the creature your looking for however you are more likely to spot the boar holes it produces these are around the size of a £1 coin and can reach over half a meter into the tree there is a warning on forestry commisions and defras websites

i see a slight bit on this in the tv programme on customs, they were opening all the containers looking for these....they then went on to show how devastating there affects can be ......not pretty.....

Yes its about 5 miles from where I live, apparently next to the hop farm where the War and Peace show is on the A228 at Beltring. Apparently all stakeholders have been informed and asked for help in detecting the beetle, hope that Food and Environmental Resarch Agency manage to get across how serious this is. If they found one tree with larvae theres bound to be more.:thumbdown:

A big bonfire would cure a lot of things in that area. Yes the transfesa side of paddock wood, just a bit worrying that the beetle they found in 2009 there was obvoiusly not alone! As I have heard it takes two to make babies.:blushing:
