MPG in van

I use an app to track my MPG. Last month figures dived. Checked fuel lines etc nothing wrong.

Well I fuelled up today and MPG up 30% and back to normal. Now the thing is I'm a creature of habit and use the same garage and the app tells me the same pump......until tonight. All I did was use a different pump and MPG 30% increase.

Call to trading standards I think.

Sorry but I dont understand how an "app" can track your mpg. All you need to do is work out how many gallons you put in and how many miles you did and do the maths.

Maybe you can put me right:confused1:

The app does just that, you input the mileage reading, number of litres added and cost per litre. I use it as a means of tracking vehicles expenses including tyres, servicing, etc for the van and land rover.

It also means I know what receipts I need to find come accounting time for the van.

Yes you could just get the calculator out but having all the data together means you can see trends etc.

The weather has suddenly warmed up so no tick over while scrapping windscreen. No cold starts or lights on pulling alt lighter evenings combined with different type of driving and checking tyre pressures it can all add up. Our van even does slightly better after an oil change.
