Anybody see that thing on the telly about milk as an isotonic, apparently it helps re-hydrate and repair the body faster than man made isotonics.... Who'd have thought, mother nature eh...

You can't believe a thing anymore, not that long ago they said we had not evolved enough to be ready to take dairy products.

I think it's all a load of pish, eat what you want in moderation and eat lots of different food groups. Job done :biggrin:

 

Hey Tom I bet you can get loads of different wine in the Broxburn scotmid though:lol:

I've forgotten what it tastes like, might have to get a bottle... Last time I had buck fast was about the same time I last had amyl nitrate..... 22 years now that I think about it!!

My mate religiously drinks beers after running. He read it in a Spanish running

mag that the old beer rehydrates the body and replaces the lost electrolytes. I was sceptical, but he believed it.

There could be something in that, you know. The body has a tendency to crave what it needs, and I know that half way through a really sweaty day working I get a really strong craving for a nice cold pint.

I read in a recent "news" bit that a load of tests had shown that milk after exercise is by far the best way to replenish the body's reserves and all these energy-drinks are tosh. But then I'm sure if you googled enough you could find some research stating the exact opposite.
