Blue is the colour that represent happiness and optimism.

Blue is a proper male colour, whereas orange is, well, a bit gay.

I've read somewhere that the Forestry Commission use them. Also, the British army use them and the Chagos Conservation Trust are using them to clear huge coconut plantations.

 

To be honest, I don't think you can go far wrong with either Makita (Dolmar), Husky, or Stihl (as long as it's not one of their ones with crappy bearings).

Martin - I was in exactly the same boat and spent months comparing every saw known to man until I gave in and picked up a used Stihl MS260 with 15" bar off eBay for £250. Having had a bunch of pro arbs in to do some big felling, I can honestly say that you won't give your saw a fraction of the abuse the pros do so even a second hand decent Stihl will last you for ever. The same probably goes for a second hand pro Husky.

 

Also Makita don't do a toy chainsaw which is obviously a key consideration if you have kids...

DONT!!!! I've just used my 550xp for the first time taking down a good sized cherry 20 mins ago. I couldnt feel the saw go through the wood , unreal !! The tree could have been made of thread for all it mattered . There the same price but ones the new kid on the block
