The reason we "quote" and not fix the price

another possible reason for the large root formation in Dean's pic is that the tree was potbound for too long before being planted. Having said that, the point where the two parts of the tree meet does look like a graft similar to what you see with flowering cherrys etc.

I was going to say that, i wouldn't dig it out anyway, aint dug stumps out for years, either i grind em or they stay. Digging stumps out is for the Landscaper boys:sneaky2:

Tell me about it - I love starting on a fencing or turfing job where the customer has told me that a tree firm has removed all stumps, only to find stumps covered in 1/4 inch of soil right where the fence posts or turf are going. Flaming cowboys, some of you lot :sneaky2:

Winching out stumps gets more of it out and you just price accordingly.

 

If they asked and would pay, I,d dig it out with a teaspoon, who cares as long as the money is there

Rubbish, my grinder will take it all out v easily.

Yes and leave a hole 10 ft across and diseased woodchip all over and leave you with a big beer belly
