Noctule for sure.

 

Almost certainly with rabies.

Of the 3000+ Bats tested between 1986-2002 only two were found positive for rabies (EBL), both Daubenton's.

 

Bats will come very close as they will often take the midges,etc that appear around you and above your head in warm weather.

Re the rabies thing, because very occasionally bats do test positive, does that mean they could make a channel crossing?

 

The Alcathoe's Bat has been recorded as crossing the Channel although previously thought to be too small and weak for the crossing.
