What to offer?

A close freind of mine is packing up on the firwood side of things and has offerd me his log pile, whats it worth for the lot.

the majority of it is allready in split lengths 2-4foot long so all thats needed is cutting on the sawbench.

the pile is about 45ft long 20ft deep and 8ft high

Projected selling price, less costs/taxes, less required profit margin= offer price.

I would guess that there is maybe 40-45 cube there once processed,hard to asses the hard-soft split and it is it will take some shifting unless you have a skip and a loader. Looks like there might be some more inside the shed on the right as well.

 

Price, depends on what you are currently paying for delivered cord less the cost of transport.

 

I would be tempted to agree a price per processed cube and then process it up on site and transport it in cu meter bags. That way everything is above board and there is no guess work.

I'd try and get him to sell it on here.

I've found business deals like that with close friends can easily turn sour, so unless you can agree on a deal like Alycidon suggests, I'd steer clear.

Hard to say because prices vary region by region but I would go for around £20-25 per cubic metre.
