Mini Forwarders For Sale?

Hi all,

Got 15 - 20k to spend on a mini forwarder, but am having real trouble finding any second hand ones. Does anyone here have one for sale, per chance?

Preferably a KRANMAN, Vimek, WheelHorse or IronHorse, but am open to suggestions. Must have a crane and over 1 ton loading capacity.

Thanks

Does it have to be a mini forwarder?

Have you tried looking in Sweden or Norway they're popular over there. Very expensive though.

Got 20k to spend. Yes, it has to be a mini forwarder. Thinning on sensitive grounds on steep slopes.

Iron Horse and Wheel Horse have too little power and you don't get much for your money.

I'll be going on a Swedish road trip if UK suppliers continue to remain in hiding.

Really hoping that someone is selling one second hand. The VAT on new machinery is a biatch!

I would not think it all that likely that you will find a second hand one that is VAT free either

Probably worth thinking about registering - VAT will also apply to service items and fuel for it so will reduce your running costs or at least let you pass them on to the end user - who will also probably be registered

Cheers

Most grants only chip in 50%. So you have to 'match' the other 50% with your own money.

Where are you located? The grants usually come from Europe but can be different depending on where in the UK you are.

Carmarthen, South Wales (lower mid). Would you happen to have a link to the relative grants authority please?

I have found this, which looks promising: http://www.ruraldevelopment.org.uk/news/new-grant-scheme-announced-forestry-equipment

Hi yes that is the sort of thing. The problem is in different areas of the UK the money is allocated to different sectors. I am in North Wales and have struggled to get a grant that covered forestry.

I would try here:

Rural Business Development Centre

If you have a farm you can get grants to diversify into another sector - such as forestry.

PM me and I will send you current details of where to get grant aid as I have just purchased a new Botex timber trailer and crane and a tractor PTO winch through a forestry regeneration scheme.
