550 imo; my old 346 exhaust always stank so bad, 550 much better.

 

:confused1: you using old Fish and Chip oil in the chain oil tank??? Perhaps you should have perfumed and talcumed it before use:001_rolleyes:

 

Stubbys smells like Paprika Beef - doesn't it Andy:lol: Mine smells like Cranberry Lamb:thumbup:

No. I use Oregon Super Saw Chain Oil in the oil tank and stihl / husq / echo / redline 2-stroke oil in esso / texaco petrol in the fuel mix tank...

 

I meant the exhaust fumes from the 346 are absolutely minging, it's non x-torq engine simply stinks - loads of UHCs.

mine dont smell! nor has anyonther 346 i have used, sumit up with yours?

550 isnt a tried and tested saw yet,, and with people still having promblems with there 560xp's i think ill leave it a while,

I've had my 550 for a few weeks now and on the whole I'm pretty chuffed with it. I was skeptical about the new generation saws to start with, but having used a 560 and now own a 550, they really do knock the socks off the 346 and the 357 in how they handle and how they pull in the cut.

 

Longevity wise, only time will tell.

Talked to my usual supplier today about a new 346xp but they only have one left in stock and it is the xpg version. I choked when told the price difference to the xp. Said they would do it for £550 though. Dose that sound like a fair price? Like the idea of helping gloves stay dry :)
