i have a yale imori 11mm rope

an eye to eye prussic,

a stein skywalker pulley

 

the skywalker looks a slimilar gadget as the hitch climber, can it be used the same?

 

please could you post your vt climbing vids here as im would like to learn to use it,

With your bits and pieces you could also consider trying alternative hitches to the VT (aswell as the VT).

The VT might feel a bit 'twitchy' and hitches like the distel and schwabisch could offer more-predictable options.

None, I'm afraid.

 

I climb on a VT but gradually moved to the decision - if I'd tried it straight away, I probably would have scared myself away from it altogether.

 

If I'm in need of more friction, and less free-running, I still use a distel. Without doubt there are many hitches, and many variations on each hitch, but I'm happy with the two set-ups I use.

I climb on a VT with a hitch climber pulley. I was considering a Skywalker, but I figured the extra hole in the hitchclimber could come in handy, as I now use a strop or secondry anchor connecting to it. Its very practicle as both of your lines are joining at one place, the pulley. Which making maneuverability a damn sight easier.

There's plenty of stuff on YouTube to see y' thru and on the search option on this forum, once you get used to the VT/pulley system you will be amazed, but take it easy whilst getting used to it, as with all new systems, low and slow. Go for it

Yeah the skywalker can replace the hitchclimber pulley.

 

(BTW I think that you are technically tying a machard tresse using an eye to eye friction cord as opposed to a length with fishermans tied each end.)

The only difference between an eye-to-eye cord and a fishermans-to-fishermans cord is the former is finished with spliced eyes and not a tied eyes.

Exactly. and one is a VT and the other is the MT knot.
