Hello peeps.

Right is there a right and a wrong way to clean/wash/dry rope do you use soap

Or just clean water, also how often do you clean them.

Reason I ask is that my rope has got soaked and it stinks and thought I could do with a wash but really used it a lot. But don't want it to get wrecked a they r not cheap. Thanks

Electricians braid, in the machine on a wool cycle with a small amount of non-bio has always worked for my ropes. Some also put them in a pillow case, but I have never seen the need.

Just use clean water. And hang them up to dry, near a log burner is good.

NEVER,NEVER , leave a rope near that kind of heat hang them loose in the open air ,let the air/wind dry them . if its not raining

I soak mine in a water for a few hours then when fully soaked I run it through my fingers to wring all the dirt out of it. I'll do this maybe 2 - 3 times across a day before lying it out to dry (not in direct sunlight though). I don't use any detergents.

I said near the burner, maybe should have said in the same room but not over the burner, had to dry ours out quick over night for the next day. So air drying is too slow over night, especially in the winter. So apologies for not being clearer.
