Can this be verified as "invasive"? It's the changing soil chemistry at the heart of problems with Phytophthora species, which have always been extant in the soil.

 

dont get what your claiming as a fact here treeseer|?

 

lot of factors still being evaluated as far as I can tell, and this is a widely hybridising organism, no doubt changing soil chemistry is a major player with increasing nitrificatio/acidification etc but facts? think they are thin on the ground at the moment.

I agree. Is it hybridizing or is it an exotic invader; I tend to think the former.

There is a Scottish traditional dance called ' Strip the Willow ' . It dates back many centuries where the men and women stripped the willow bark to die fabrics and use the bare bundled sticks. It is performed at just about every Scottish wedding today and is great fun :001_smile:
