Bell tent

Hi, I was wondering if anybody on here had made there own bell tent. I know its a bit of a different subject to arb but I thought am sure someone on here has come across them! Anyways am looking at building my own bell tent and I was wondering if anybody knew were to get the canvas form and just a bit of advise on building them! It's only really going to be used for festivals and a few camping trips! Any advise would be appreciated Joe

Poncho, ground sheet. Easy carry around, easy to assemble, keeps you warm and dry.

I have made many tents, canvas is a lot to buy per meter and does not come very wide on the roll so lots of panals witch you must dubble sew, and you need a heavy weight machine, best buy a finish tent. if you need any info ask

No worries, what type of material do you make the tents out of then?

canvas is the best, hardwearing, but hard to find quailty. i think rip-stop canvas would be good, made a few lorrie sheets from it, or buy a old scout tent.

I would build it with a little apex thingymijig , atrium ? at the front before you get into the main tent , get the muddy boots off first and would mean you could cook in it aswell

I'd defininetely use canvas, I bought my bell tent a few years ago and didn't realise how cool they are in the heat, definetely a bonus if you want a lie in at a festy. Kids love em' too
