that what worred me about a longer crane, and the extra stress on the main beam, but the tractor size that may be solved but our sites have good acess in the way of soil condutions and despite the few steep bits which dont matter. the sites are very level. i know what you mean though.

If you ve got a small tractor, try the 6 tonne farma trailer with the 3.8m crane. its the entry level unit and is very good value. you will be able to move lots of timber, but it wont need big racks

I have an mb 1000 with a load bay fitted vreten 60/40 crane and a vreten 10 ton combi trailer. I often find I could do with another 30 hp on road but it's fine in the woods.

I may be selling the combi trailer though to replace with a standard forest trailer.

To be honest I think the farma 6t trailer and crane is excellent.

Good first trailer, excellent for coppice work

the only reason I am changing is to go up in size.

I need a crane that will lift about 1ton and carry 10t.

I would like to keep the farmer but it's not financially viable to have 2 trailers.

Could shoot a video for you in a weeks time if that helps.

This is what you need.

I used to run this on a 50hp tractor

Do you reckon a 50hp alpine would handle it OK, or does it need a more substantial tractor?

So long as the wheels are set out, no problem
