When cutting a large stump flush, place twigs in the cut - as you would with wedges. It doesn't matter if the twigs get damaged and if there are enough in there it will stop your saw getting trapped. Done properly you can cut all the way through without taking the saw out.

Agreed,but try a bit carving with youre 200t and make some wedges.

thats a bloody big cedar josh where is it???

 

im a fan of using dutchman cuts to get hinges to swing and jump and keep timber away from close targets

 

its at hinchinbrooke (spelling) at the 6th form college(near the hospital) theres a few big cedars visible from the road-that being the closest.

would love to take it down when its times up

dead hardwood works best for this.

 

also if your wedging hard tree and the wedges keep spitting out the cut then put soil or sand on them the grit makes them stick in the cut.
