1 question that i think would be valid for your assignment is

why do sthil chainsaws turn off the wrong way?

surely the husky way makes sense and in this industry is it not about time H&S made one or the other change it makes a mockery out of safety features that are completely different

yes mate, not too sure why they evan bother putting them in!

 

Arr right that would prob explain the 338 I used, thinking back it did seem 'strangled'

Wouldnt surprise me if the spark arrestor had been gummed up.

 

Cheers fro that bit of info :thumbup1:, will have a look to see if the saw is still about and if it can be rescued :001_smile:

Yeah your right about the on/off switch on the stihl's. I always thought it was a stupid way to turn them off.

It would make starting easier too if everything was reversed.:thumbup1:

Would that not make things even more confusing? If stihl changed every time you picked up a stihl chainsaw for the next ten years you would have to remember whether it was a pre change or post change model, and if you needed to stop it in an emergency chances are you would get it wrong.

well you know what i meant it,s a shame they did not sort it years ago but they could still burn all the pre change ones or retro fit new switches

they did it to chippers
