after so thoughts really.

i have always wanted a big v8 engined car, finally got on a year ago. Got a MGZT260 (4.6V8 from a mustang). Its loud and fast and has all the bells and whisltes.

Problem is i can see it in the eyes of customers when i go pricing they see a shiny (2 tone paint scheme) noisy and probably expensive car and they are thinking this guys charges too much! In fact the cares values is 7k

On top of that i dont do a lot of miles (except in the work truck).

ALso maybe i am getting old but as i said its loud!. Sounds fantastic but theses days its a bit much for me! (kids not to keen either!)

So i am thinking of changing it in. Thinking 3 different vehicles

Pickup (Crew cab navara)

Second truck ( toyota dyna)

small run around (yaris etc)

The vehicle is to be used to collect the kids from school occasional, pricing, shopping etc.

Has to have at least 3 seats ( got 2 kids).

Not massive so can fit into a parking bay (my transit is too fat to do the school run in)

My company is small, only 3 of us so we rarely need a second truck and if we do i normally just rent for the day.

I am however getting into doing firewood this coming winter.

Tempted by a pickup and sticking the tipper body that i have seen a chap on here advertise. that way it can deliver logs of take a small load of chippings.

Or do i just get a small car, cheap to run easy to park etc?

Budget depends on the vehicle, if a run around the around 6k, if truck or pickup then around 13k.

And am i right in saying i should be able to run a navara as a company vehicle and get the VAT back?

Thoughts please cos i cant think what is the best route!

cheers

If the truck(Hilux) or car was bought by you you could claim back mileage,45p per mile.

The vehicle would have to be owned by the company to get any vat back if you are registered.

Just buy a S/H little car if that is all you need!

Yes i am VAT registered.

I am suffering from practicality vs looking good vs just getting from A to B

Many a MG owner would argue that its not a rover its a MG, but i dont really care. To me it does look very much like a rover 75.

It handles brilliantly, goes stops and turns so well.

Yes its rwd and if you turn of the traction control you can have a blast! if u have a min youtube clarkson driving it on topgear.

cheers
