Retailers required for our seasoned logs

We have over 150 tonnes of naturally seasoned softwood (12-18 months) which we are frantically processing into firewood.

Our local island market (Island of Arran) is serving us well, but they will never get through the amount we have available and we want to clear our sheds before next Spring.

We are looking for a firewood retailer on the mainland who is interested in a trade purchase for resale, with a healthy mark-up. We can supply on demand, in 1m3 vented bags (not builders bags - proper full cubic meter bags). The firewood is about 15-20% MC in 8" split logs.

Because of the ferry freight charges off the island, we can only economically supply loads of 25 bags (artic loads), however with the quality of our logs, you would not be long selling the lot and be back asking for more. :001_smile:

Send me a PM (private message) if you would like more information.

Our cube bags are £40 each ex-yard on the Island of Arran, for a minimum load of 25 bags.

Add to that the cost of £20 per bag to get them across to the mainland, to Ardrossan Harbour (post code KA22 8HB). Our driver can deliver anywhere in the near vicinity for no extra charge, but would charge more for longer distances, anywhere in the UK.

It is not proving viable to send loads to England, but we are getting a lot of interest from firewood traders in the Scottish Central Belt, The Borders & Northern England.

Alternatively, come to Arran for a nice weekend break and take a couple of bags home with you, will help to pay the ferry fare..............

idea of a healthy mark up is some what different to mine.

Quite possibly Shyhuck, and perhaps in your area the firewood prices are not as buoyant as in other areas.

I am finding out that the retail firewood market varies considerably across the UK. In areas of short supply and high demand, the traders are more than satisfied with their healthy mark-up. So, I take your point, it's not an offer that suits everyone in our wide and wonderful country....
