I used to commute mon-fri every week with a flight at each end. Tbh I would say it depends on if you are flying with kids etc, but my advice would be to sleep, then in the morning don't have any caffeine - that way you should be able to have a kip on the plane too, and will benefit from it later.

 

Worked for me, anyhow...
