I really like the look of that socket. :001_cool:

 

We drop ours in a hole the same as yours then put wooden wedges down the side to secure it.

 

 

Yeah, we still do that with the other two trees, but the socket is easy and works really well.

Will try and replace the others for next year.

 

Had this socket for a couple of years now. :thumbup1:

Couldn't someone from Kielder forest pick one them for you John?? I find it quite bizzare to travel all that way to choose a tree :biggrin:

 

Yes they could mate, but I’ve picked the trees for the last 9 years – if we get a couple of Duff ones my head would be on the block! These aren’t the best I’ve had but if they arrive un-scathed they should be ok.

 

Was chatting to the forester and asked him if they get much theft – apparently not, although they do have big problems with people driving up in box vans and filling them up with fire-wood! :lol:

There used to be a little xmas tree planting near us John, but within a few years the word went round and everyone helped themselves, nothing left there now!!

 

Same down here last year- stocks ran out and there were guys camping in fields as security for the last few days B4 christmas day!!!
