Lightning damage & Fungi

Very impressive effort, did you bust them off with a winch first? And is that a Willans harness?! Must be a very old picture :P

 

Catastrophic wind blow from about three years ago, no winching involved.

 

 

 

Currently have a Petzl but tend to nick the guys Treemotions when the rare occasion for me to go arboreal happens :001_rolleyes:

No fungi associated with this one yet but it was the result of a pretty Big Bang last night which sent woody debris spraying around an 80m radius.. 

Totally destroyed this mature oak...............but not the Oak Processionary Moth Caterpillars that were still happily going about their business this morning !

So the lightning struck and blew the old oak away? Blimey. Do you think the OPM had something to do with the way it shattered?
