Lots of engraving on parts that will make the saw undesirable to look at to a prospective buyer on areas that will mean alot of work & £ to bother with, i.e fuel tank, base of the unit, some smaller areas inside the workings that are only accessible from a break down for maintenance. You probably wont get your nicked saw back but it may annoy the person who is selling it as the value may not be as much as with a clean unspoiled saw.

i thought of area colour coding inc notches dia grinding fins to relate owner in that area etc sw nw se ne etc etc then a picture on here if it gets nicked etc scuffs scrapes n all like a data base but keep it upto date ???????? would be a pain to get rid and police could access to return to rightful owner then too BUT WOULD THEY BE A**ED or just send to auction for policemans ball sold with police reciept etc ?????
