Climbing Wellingtonia's?

Hi all, I had a go climbing a Wellingtonia today but found it quite difficult. Getting a good branch to put the rope over took ages because of the way the branches slope down. The tree was around 30-35 metres tall but I only got to around 17 metres. Does anyone know any good ways to climb them?

without spikes or throwline, slowly! 2 ropes/both ends, one rope up to a branch on the left, one up to a branch to the right, a few prussiks to the left, then to the right and so on

Long gaffs and err more than a bit of slack between anchor points.

lob your rope over two limbs at the same height, limbs on wellys point away from each other so helps keep your rope near the stem
