I was offered $27.50 an hour in Auckland in 1999, how does that compare to now ?

 

Pretty good I'd say. Average seems to be between $20 and $25 per hour for a good climber with a bit extra for the very good. That's employed not subbing though. Some of the city boys might be able to confirm that but at least that's what's on offer in the sticks.

Yeh thats pretty good if you'r employed,Thats about right down here too(what you say Ian)

Just been offer'd a full time job(climber) in Edinburgh and was just wondering what kinda of wages for on the books people are getting?Haven't climbed in the UK before so its all new to me.

Been climbing 4 years.

Hi there not sure about Scotland but south west england for climbers on the books it can range from 75 to 100 per day using company kit , and as a subby climber with all your own kit then it's anywhere from 100 to 150 per day tops
