typicall, against all stuctured oposition too,,,public meetings and opionions mean nothing,,they would have already made there minds up,,,

They say it will knock off half an hour ,off the journey from london to birmingham!!! as its none stop!! surely then it would be cheaper to add another train on exsisting line and make that none stop??? doubt they`d have thought of that,,too busy working out which friends will get the contracts,,,shame!!

your right.. they bought propertys for millions around here over 18 months ago.. they just bought my uncles house off him for same money he had it valued fot 4 yrs ago.... the stress of not being able to sell his house for 2 yrs is prob what caused him to have a stroke recently but doubt they'l worry btoo much about that..

just makes me sick when they had a route up side of M1 planned which surely would have less impact.. they reckon this will be on level with the M25 build.....

progress in to the 21st century is what is ruining England and what precious countryside we have left. just so a bunch of penpushers can get to work half an hour quicker to their pointless jobs most of which consist of thinking up equally pointless schemes such as the HS2.

It will turn in to a farce just like Wembley stadium over budget over time locals will not benefit from work as it will be done by one of the big contractors that can afford the back handers and they call this progress :thumbdown:
