Hell fire, that was one scary gust

My house is called windy ridge and we are perched on top of a big hill, in 20 years of being here, that was the scariest gust I have witnessed.

The whole house shook, the windows bowed at an alarming rate and the whole 30ft length of ridge just peeled off and down the roof then the soaker slates started flying all over hitting other houses and stuff, luckily no one hurt and no other property damage.

I,m just hoping the wind settles to allow repair, before the slates start peeling like a deck of cards

140kph here or so the weather man says. I reckon it was a lot more than that. Thought the wind was going to take the roof off last night. Sounded like someone strumming the slates. I live less than 100m from the Atlantic. Was the first time I've ever been scared during a storm whilst indoors.

Few trees down near me last night, council seem to be dealing with it this morning though, one of the small (but busy) lanes was blocked as far as i could tell with a large macrocarpa:scared1:

Got called out to deal with a poplar that had fallen onto a barn roof. Dealt with that one and then felled another poplar into the field as that was severly rotten as well.

One fairly large pine tree down on our land and lots of other trees down locally. A number of roads shut including the M74 both ways south of Glasgow today. Some pretty bad winds. We have a house we rent and it's lost 4 tiles off the roof. Been a breezy winter so far.
