Flattened a heap of trees and and a few houses. Some of my mates are on tree crews up there. They got a stop work so rescue workers could hear any cries for help.

Just a portent of things to come I'm afraid

Neighbour of mine took 4 hours to get from Gateshead to Fenham - about 5 miles ! and had to walk the last half mile when the bus broke down
