Escort vans were good I had a couple of them, they are just a bit long in the tooth now.

I may look at the ford again, it's the usuall when buying something, you think you have it narrowed down then right back to the drawing board:biggrin:

I had one a couple of years ago on a 04 plate ex gas van 30,000 miles like new paid £1700. Bought on Monday Paris Tuesday sold on thursday cos someone offered £3500. While in France it was like a green house with the big windscreen sun always in your eyes and no air con. Went well empty but with some weight struggled. I think the newer cdti had alot more oomph on 05 plate otherwise cracking little van.

we got one as a spare runabout motor at work and its a good little van.. it has a bad turbo lag but when it kicks in the van flies

I had one on a 57 reg, wicked little van, towed my 6x4 iforwilliams full of logs fine. Excellent on fuel and had loads of storage behind the seats and above. Held its value really well and if I was to ever get another small van I would get one again for sure

I have the 1.7 cdti on a 57 plate and it's great. When I was researching them I was told to avoid the 1.3 because of flywheel issues.

My one has not put a foot wrong (touch wood)!

Drove the 1.3 combo mmmm was a bit slugish, Then test drove a Peugeot partner 1.6 I liked that so that's in the mix now as well, decisions, decisions:biggrin:
