mobile log splitting service

Does anyone have any experience of mobile log splitting services to squeeze some more dosh out of tree surgery clients?

I already do larger scale tractor/firewood processor service but I was thinking of the smaller jobs. there are a few road tow 14t splitters around with their own little engines for about £3.5k.

Yes, i've got a Riko road towable splitter with petrol engine on it.

Its mainly for my own processing so i can get it to and from the yard, but i send it out for mobile splitting etc. Great way of earning an extra income from a job completed i.e take down.

Customers really value the service too because the chances are they have already found out the hard way what its like to split with an axe!!

Yep iv just set up doing the same thing only with a kubota mini unit its good to provide extra services and with more and more clients getting log burners it makes sence ,the only thing is how long will it be before arbs start doing it as a free service!
