I did the BSc on site from 2006 - 2010 (with a years placement) and i found the 1st year gave good background info on the industry, the second year gave more info about the trees and a bit more on the biology of trees. In the 3rd year there was a lot on their management and quite in-depth modules on their biology.

The course has changed since i did the course but i think most of the modules are similar.

As far as tutors go, the man has got to be Duncan 'the big D' Slater. what he doesn't know isnt worth knowing!

What Dunc doesn't know, doesn't exist or hasn't been discovered yet. For those doing the online foundation and top up bsc, how many hours a week are you putting into it and do you find it fits in well with work? I did my ND at Myerscough 06/09 and Was thinking of going back to myerscough in Sept but recently got a job at Westonbirt and well...600 acres of trees seemed a lot more appealing than a campus full of students.

Very happy to say that I have been accepted onto the course and start in September!

It seems that I will be in good company with several others here also starting. It sounds like it may be good to be able ask the odd question here and get a quick response from one another rather than hanging out for the official response from tutors!

I must admit that I am a little worried about time management with working full time and baby on the way...its going to be a busy year!!
