Sorry if this thread has been covered before, but which winch do you fellas use. Thinking of either putting one on my L200 or the 7ton Isuzu.

If its the L200 what is the biggest winch you can put on without problems.

Have looked at Super Winch.

If you go for a super winch try to find a bumper where you can replace the solonoids without having to completely remove the winch each time.

Get an Albright and you won't have to touch them again.

I'd highly recommend a husky there not like the 8274 as far as popularity but there a pro winch and have no brake to maintain, there not the fastest. I've got two and never had a problem

I have a husky on my defender, its good, its slow but not unbearable but thats a good thing if your using it for assisting felling etc. They have a worm drive so you can leave them tensioned with out them burning out. I have mine on albright solenoids as mentioned and they are easy to wire to a remote control if you want to at a later date.

You want a worm drive winch as said before so you can control spooling out better and holds itself if it dies! leccy ones die easily on long pulls and burn out solenoids. For heavy work you will be better with a pto or hydraulic one or youl buy a leccy one every few years :001_tongue:
