Try Norcot timber in Arborfield they had a 6 wheeler. Hell of a thing I left the yard with the winch in gear once. Winched the jib down to the bed of the lorry I never noticed A thing.

Shouldn't think Dave will want to sell that, it's a family heirloom! I got a photo of it somewhere pulling out his John Deere after that went sump deep and the ground swallowed a County too!

if so let me know :thumbup1:

Hi, I've a Matador that were looking to sell. I believe it was built in 1942 as a gun tractor and my dad put a Jib on it, probably 40 years ago for dragging timber out of the woods. Its still running but no longer used. Unfortunately I lost my Dad last year and were slowly selling 50 years of accumulated haulage vehicles. Were based in Chichester. If your want some more info let me know and I'lll get some photos taken and further details. I'm sure we also have the original log book and may evan have some manuals.

Cheers

Pete

I used to work for Norcot Timber, and the six wheel drive, was their Flagship. Even though it was falling apart. I do remember pulling a Poclain Digger, out of a pond with the Dinosaur, as well as other jobs, lifting logs, and towing a tractor, with a trailer full of bales.

Bill also used the Matador, to pull out stumps, and Telegraph poles, from around the farm, which I had to pull the cable out for, and hook things onto. we were also using it to move fence rails, and posts, around the estate with.

I stopped working for Norcot, about the turn of the Century, and have not seen them since, but if anybody has any photographs of the Matador, in particular, and the Fordson Major, that were used by Norcot, for me to download, I would like to see them

When were you at Norcot? I myself came in July 1993, and left in June 1999. This was because I found work for Sir Nigel Broakes, in Checkendon. Unfortunately the owners who brought the estate after Sir Nigel died, made me leave, and I am now stuck with nothing, living back at my Parents, and nothing to show for it.

There's a chap with timber yard down the road from me with a matador and a militant he still uses em daily, says he'll get round to restoring them but he's now over 70 and always too busy filling his yard with big butts and other old iron dinosaurs!😄I'd love either of em but I think there'll be an auction when he tucks his horns in and they'll go for good money!
