Come on, they're all in it together, bunch of back sratchers, teachers still getting paid though.

 

I have quite a few friends who are teachers mate, and to be honest, you're way off the mark there. Most of them work more hours than I do...

I'm very much on the mark there mate, through out the 12 month period, every 6 weeks they have a week off, not to mention a short working day, would you like to pay people 35k working for you on those terms?

Only needs one kid to be hit by a bough - would you take the risk to let them travel in a storm.

I take your point, all depends on the circumstance's at the time, local authority's closing schools incase the worst does happen and someone is found guilty of negligence and sued, bang goes their pension,........ got to get their backs covered.

I also take on your point about being over cautious:thumbup1: but you can't allow for idiots

 

when my son was at a village based secondry school (covers a big area) due to heavy rain some parts were flooded - so the headmaster closed the school in the middle of a storm, relying on kids to have mobile phones to contact parents to pickup - no buses, so all the kids with no m/phones were put at real risk of exposure (most didn't have coats) and were told to stand outside the school in the heavy rain, some started walking 3 miles home soaked - for no reason.

Few trees down, roads closed.

we were very lucky this morning. Dropped 2 big connies for safety and left site due to weather, returned 1 hour later and where we had all been standing we found this .

 

 

There was another down across neighbours driveway but a 46 and tracked machine cleared that.

 

Then I came home to tackle this monster windblow !!!!
