Apple never invented to touch screen tommer but they do it better than anyone else, and as for the iPhone well it is the best and it's proven to be time and time again.

Look have a pc and I have a mac I like both in there own way, a pc is better for everyday use, but when it comes to stability and trouble free use a mac is the tool.

Hi all, Not sure if this is a new scam, I have seen a number of similar ones, but have just had this pop up on the screen:

No, I wasn't looking at anything naughty or illegal, and yes anti virus was on and up to date.

Computer freezes, can't see desktop, start programs or get task manager to run. Just had to start in safe mode, run msconfig and remove startup entry for 0.45707695585813735.exe (a random number as file name).

Would be interesting to know how many people actually pay up when faced with a con like this.

I had the same virus on friday night, Mine came from XNXX :blushing:

I got my 14 year old to sort it for me and it took him about 10 minutes.

If you get stuck PM me and ill see if he can help you out

Thanks for the offer but it was sorted in a few minutes.

As I said earlier this is the first malware/virus problem in over three years, no hardware problems for at least five years. Don't see how spending more money on a mac would help.

Very few viruses out in the wild that affect Linux OS's but they will come as they are for mac:

34 to 175 compared to 170,000 on a pc hardly worth talking about, but it illustrates my even more buy a mac problem solved.

In my opinion apple products are very good for what they are and do but completely overrated, the way people go on and on is unreal you'd think it was the only thing out there

My old PC broke last month, after 8 years of constant use and only ever got one virus, think I've spent from memory about £85 over those 8 years on minor problems.

And as for the iphone, I'll take my galaxy anyday, and no samsung didn't copy of apple:001_rolleyes:

£400 PC that would blow a MAC out of the water for the 1st week then get all the usual windows problems, and then after 4 months it would be running like a cripple.

I have owned both and tried to go back to a PC due to gaming and spec but the fact is buy a MAC have trouble free surfing.

Nobody needs to spend £1500, get a nice IMac for £900 and have it for the next 10 year. I have had 4 windows laptops in 6 years. Do the maths lads it's a no brainer, and plus they look class and the the second hand market is good they hold there money. See how you get for your £400 PC after 10 year.

Agree entirely, I have worked in IT for over 25 years, with MOD & a number of blue chip clients in a variety of roles; security, networking, hosting etc.

I have a MacPro & a MacBook Pro, they do everything I want with ease, over the years all our family switched to Mac and the free support line for help with Windows is now silent. Not that I dont talk to them, its just the enormous scope for trouble that Redmonds offering has & always will have.

Windows 2000 Pro was my fav with XP Pro next

But hey, it will all be fixed in the next release!

8 years is pretty good, I did run a PC for a similar amount of time & the HDD failed and when I restored from my Acronis image it then told me the license was invalid.

Microsofts answer was to ask me for another £170 which they diddnt get & I removed the offending registry keys.
